How to become a professional soccer player in the USA?

June 1, 2023

This is a question that many parents of talented young soccer players in America are asking themselves. it seems that the soccer scene in the USA has some room for improvement, especially when compared to European countries like England or Spain. The costs of playing soccer in the USA can be quite high, with some parents stating that they pay thousands of dollars per year for their child to play in local clubs, while in Europe, the costs can be significantly lower, with better coaches and facilities.
However, despite these challenges, there are still opportunities for young players to develop their skills and pursue a career in soccer in the USA. Some options include college soccer or joining a professional MLS academy team, lets see here bellow some options listed:

Additionally, it’s worth noting the comments about the importance of playing as many pickup games and matches as possible to develop creativity and skill. Soccer Atlas Kids is a program that emphasizes this approach, providing young players with the opportunity to play free and pressure-free games before they reach adulthood. This can be a valuable way for children to hone their skills and develop a love for the game without the added stress of performance expectations.

In conclusion, becoming a professional soccer player in the USA is possible but requires dedication, hard work, and strategic planning. Parents can explore various options for training and development, including international programs and academies, while also prioritizing play and creativity in their child’s soccer experience. With the right support and opportunities, young soccer players can pursue their dreams and achieve success on the pitch.
